Professor KONATE Adama was born on July 7, 1967 at 7 a.m., in the maternity ward of Boundiali, in the north of Côte d'Ivoire. He was enrolled at the Gbon Public Primary School in 1974.
In 1980, he obtained the Sixth Year Diploma and entered the General Teaching College of Boundiali. In 1984, he was oriented to the Lycée Moderne d'Odienné where he obtained a Baccalaureate series C in 1987. Major of his promotion, he enrolled in Physics and Chemistry at the University of Cocody, where he obtained a Master's degree in Physics in 1991. He applied for and obtained a scholarship from higher education to study for a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Spectroscopy and Laser Physics at the University of Paris 13, Villetaneuse, under the supervision of Professor Jacques Baudon. After his Master’s internship, he completed his unique PhD thesis, under the supervision of Professor Jean Margerie, at the Laboratory of Atomic Spectroscopy in Caen with First Class Honours and Jury Congratulations, in December 1995.
On April 4, 1996, he was appointed Assistant in the Department of Physics at the University of Cocody - Côte d'Ivoire. He became an Assistant Professor in 1998 and joined the Houphouët Boigny National Polytechnic Institute (INPHB) in Yamoussoukro. In 1999, he was awarded the Knighthood in the Order of Merit of the National Education System, for his significant efforts to revive schooling and particularly for young girls in the Gbon and Kouto sub-prefectures in the Boundiali Department.
The same year, he was asked by the Minister of Technical Education and Professional Training to head the Yopougon Technical High School, where the Higher Technician Certificate course was opened. In four years of practice, it increased the school success rate from 19% in 1999 to 71.2% in 2003. He returned to the INPHB the same year to teach physics courses in the preparatory cycle.
In 2006, he was appointed Director of Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Promotion at the Ministry of Industry and Private Sector Promotion. After the post-electoral crisis, he was promoted to Deputy Chief of Staff of the Minister of Crafts and SME Promotion in June 2011. On 23 May 2012, he was appointed Director General of the African Higher School of Information and Communication Technologies.
In 2016 he participated in a course called Advance Management Programme at MDE Business School and in the same year he became a Senior Lecturer.
He successfully passed the first aid certificate of the Caen Red Cross. He is married and has four children. He is a member of the Board of Directors of several companies as an external personality.
Professor KONATE Adama intends to make all the experience acquired in administration and teaching available to AHSICT, in order to make it the center of excellence for ICT.
